Robert "Bob" Kloster

Robert “Bob” Leo Kloster was born on November 30, 1941, to Leo and Arlene (Mork) Kloster in West Union, IA. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Olaf Church in West Union.

After Bob graduated from North Fayette High School he attended AIB College of Business in Des Moines, where he received a degree in accounting. In 1963 he enlisted in the United States Army.

On November 28, 1969, he was united in marriage to Loree Eggink in San Jose, CA. He worked for Crown Cork & Seal Can Company in San Francisco, CA. In 1975 he returned to West Union and bought the Friendly Tavern from his parents. In 1982 Bob became partners with Norm Bauer at Bauer & Kloster Tax and Accounting Services, where he worked until his retirement in 2010.

Bob’s death occurred on Sunday, April 22, 2012, at his home in West Union. He was an avid golfer and fisherman. Bob was a member of Zion Lutheran Church is West Union.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Loree of West Union; son, Adam (Kady) Kloster of Glendora, CA.; daughter, Susan (Kevin) Feeney of Ankeny, IA.; sister, Marilyn (Art) Larson of Sumner, IA.; nephews, Tom (Layna) Larson of Sumner, IA. and Keith (Lynnette) Larson of Sumner, IA; grandchildren, Michael and Elizabeth Kloster, and many other beloved family members.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

The family request that memorials can be directed to Gunderson Lutheran Medical Foundation’s Dialysis Center or Cardiac Research: Gunderson Lutheran Medical Foundation 1836 South Ave LaCrosse, WI 54601

Memorial services will be 10:30 am, Wednesday, April 25, 2012, with a visitation from 9:30 am until service time at Zion Lutheran Church, West Union, IA, with Rev. David Grant as officiant. Inurnment will be held at West Union Cemetery following the service.
